Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) Scout extracurricular activity program at SDN Banyuagung 1 Surakarta; 2) Scout extracurricular activities in shaping the disciplinary character of students at SDN Banyuagung 1 Surakarta; 3) Scout extracurricular activities in shaping the independent character of students at SDN Banyuagung 1 Surakarta; 4) Barriers and solutions in the formation of a disciplined and independent character of students throught scout extracurricular activities at SDN Banyuagung 1 Surakarta. This research is descriptive qualitative research . Data collection techniques use: interviews, documentation, and observation. The validity of the data used technique tringulation and source tringulation. The analysis technique consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of scout extracurricular activities in shaping the disciplinary and independent character of students at SDN Banyuagung 1 Surakarta has gone well. This can be seen from the disciplinary behavior of students after participating in scout extracurricular activities, namely, students can do assignments and collect assignments on time, students wait for rules in class, students come to school on time, wear complete and neat uniforms, students do rowing activities in front of the class before the teaching and learning activities began. Students' independent behavior is that students do not depend on others, believe in their abilities, are able to meet their own needs, students can do assignments independently.
