Abstract

Karanganyar Regency is an area that has a large area in Central Java Province. Karanganyar Regency with its vast territory, there are education centers scattered in each region. Karanganyar has recorded many educational institutions ranging from elementary to higher education, both public and private. There are 10 Islamic schools at the SMA / MA level in Karanganyar Regency, of the ten Islamic schools it is necessary to have a typology of existing Islamic schools. This school typology is used as an effort to determine the position of Islamic schools in the region. This research was conducted to analyze the typology of Islamic schools and determine whether there was an influence of Islamic school typology on the influx of new high school / MA students in Karanganyar Regency. This type of research is conducted using qualitative research types. Sources of data were obtained by interviewing several high school / MA level teachers in Karanganyar Regency, also through collecting documentation data found on the official website of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and from other documentation data, the data used in this study were the results of the SMA National Examination. / MA 2017-2019 and the number of new Islamic school students in Karanganyar Regency. Data collection techniques used were interview techniques, documentation and questionnaires. The data analysis method used is descriptive analytic method. This study shows the results in the form of 4 types of Islamic schools at the SMA / MA level in Karanganyar Regency, namely 1 improving school, 6 dynamic type Islamic schools, 1 school entangled in the trapped school, and 1 school Islam backward type (the underdeveloped school).
