Abstract
The level of sales of spare parts at Carfix Tugu Semarang is high, so the optimization of the process of entering and leaving goods in the warehouse is an important aspect of the automotive service business process. This study aims to identify the layout of the placement of spare parts on storage racks by classifying them based on their class so that the layout of the proposed spare parts placement is obtained and the comparison of the distance between the initial warehouse and the proposed warehouse. The method used to identify problems is the Class Based Storage method, which is the placement of materials or materials based on the similarity of a type of material or material into a group. The research was conducted by examining 437 spare parts items to determine the layout of the placement of spare parts in the warehouse based on ABC classification. Based on the identification of spare parts, as many as 437 spare part items can be grouped into 120 by type, then simplified into 20 categories of spare parts. After calculating based on the frequency of spare parts sales, class A has a frequency value of 80.83% of the total 30% of the total spare parts, class B has a frequency value of 15.04% of 30% of the total spare parts, and class C has a frequency value of 4 , 13% of the total 40% of the total spare parts. In the spare parts placement layout the proposed use of storage racks is reduced by 40% so that many empty storage racks can be used as spare storage racks. In addition, the distance traveled was reduced by 2,544,765m. From these studies have implemented the principles of storage, popularity, similarity, size, characteristics and utility floor area.
