Abstract
Money as a means of payment has been known for centuries ago. At first money only functioned as a medium of exchange. At that time the community used natural products as money or referred to as commodity money. The use of objects as money varies greatly and differs among people in the world. The use of metals such as gold, silver and other metals then replaces natural products as materials for making money because they are more practical and have a longer and wider life value and are good places for storing value. Coins of the time were very popular and are still used even though banknotes have emerged which are more practical to use for large transactions and E-Money using credit cards. The development of technology-based payment systems has significantly changed the architecture of conventional payment systems that rely on physical money as a payment instrument. Although physical money is still widely used by the world community as a means of payment, but in line with the rapid development of payment system technology, cash payment patterns (cash) are gradually shifting towards non-cash payments (noncash). Non-cash payments are a component of the new regulations by Bank Indonesia, which are expected to be able to maximize and increase the purchasing power of the people, which in turn will result in an improvement in the Indonesian economy. Because non-cash transactions aim to provide the facilities and safety provided, one of which is that people no longer carry large amounts of cash to conduct transactions and only carry cards in exchange for cash, this condition is an advantage over non-cash transactions compared to cash payments
