Abstract

Hypertension is still a health problem in several developed and developing countries until now. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a chronic condition characterized by increasing blood pressure on the walls of arteries. The purpose of this study using a literature review approach was to determine the relationship between family support and compliance with hypertension sufferers in health journals in Indonesia. Journals are searched using the Garuda and Google Scholar database. The keywords used to search the literature were "family support", "treatment compliance" and "hypertension treatment adherence". Based on the search results on the Garuda and Google Scholar portals, the researcher found 20 works of literature. The selection results obtained 5 works of literature that match the inclusion criteria and indexed SINTA. The five works of literature used a cross-sectional research design with the majority of sampling using simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques. From the results of the literature review, four works of literature show a relationship between family support and compliance with hypertension treatment with bivariate analysis. Meanwhile, one literature that uses bivariate and multivariate analysis shows no relationship. The importance of family support for patients with hypertension is that the family is able to foster motivation in patients to comply with treatment.
