Abstract

Learning is the most important activity in learning. This means that participants in learning for educational purposes on how the learning process can work effectively. Al-Qur'an learning is a teaching and learning process between educators and subject matter related to al-Qur'an. Currently there are many problems that must be near schools and educators in learning activities. Such is the case when the teacher teaches in class and only uses the lecture method without a variety of other methods that can activate students in the class. If this problem cannot be resolved, it can hinder the achievement of learning objectives. The research author is related to how the efforts to improve the quality of learning the Qur'an at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors in an effort to improve the quality of learning the Qur'an, which researchers focus on describing efforts to improve the quality of learning the Qur'an ,as well as identifying supporting factors and inhibiting factors in their implementation.This study used a qualitative type using field studies at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta. Data learning techniques through observation, interviews and documentation from several parts of the school. The data analysis used a phenomenological qualitative approach which began with data reduction, then data presentation and retrieval using the inductive method.From the results of the research it can be ignored that improving the quality of learning the Qur'an at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta is strived for by providing complete schools for learning activities, increasing learning hours of the Qur'an, adding extracurricular hours to reading and writing the Qur'an, schools holding mandatory activities for special program classes in the form of the tahfidz cycle, increasing human resources by holding tahsin training for educators, teachers of learning the Koran prepare effective and directed learning plans by making lesson plans, and good cooperation between schools, teachers and parents in improving the quality of learning the Qur'an.
