Abstract
Mass media is a very influential communication tool. The Mata Najwa television program in the "PKI dan Hantu Politik" edition indicated there was a discourse produced. Power and knowledge become interrelated, knowledge related to communism can influence views related to the topic being raised. There are inclusions and exclusions which influence how the show is produced. The television program presents speakers who have different views, it can show how the placement of participants' positions in the production of discourse. The topic raised attracted the attention of the community because communism was a ghost that was shocking to the community. The book withdrawal conflict that is suspected to be a left book is related to the current political dynamics. The purpose of this research is to find out the discourse developed by the Mata Najwa television program in the "PKI dan Hantu Politik" edition. The theory used is the critical discourse analysis of Michel Foucault's perspective. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Norman Fairclough perspective critical discourse analysis method. The results found that there is a structure of discourse formed by the program and the use of language that has a certain meaning. The resource person also has a role in the discourse produced. This can affect the public's view of the right and wrong parties. The existence of historical influence regarding the knowledge held by the community in relation to the issue will influence how the context of the language is transmitted.
