Abstract
Drought disasters can occur due to climate changes, which can result in changes in rainfall intensity. Apart from rainfall, there are other factors that can affect the level of vulnerability to drought, such as slope, soil texture and soil solum. The high level of vulnerability to drought disasters can adversely affect farmers' land productivity. The impact that often occurs is the occurrence of crop failure on food crop agriculture. One of the preventive steps that can be taken is to identify or assess areas that are prone to drought, so that solutions can be found. In addition, farmers also treat adaptation strategies so that food crop productivity is maintained. This research was conducted in the Pepe sub-watershed which aims to (1) create a drought hazard level distribution map (2) analyze drought vulnerability levels and (3) determine the appropriate drought disaster adaptation strategy for farmers. The method used in this research is a survey, with quantitative descriptive analysis and overlay map analysis of the results of the parameters for determining the level of drought disaster hazard. The results of this study indicate that, (1) the Pepe sub-watershed area has three levels of drought hazard, namely low, low, and medium levels which are dominated by low levels of drought hazard from the middle to the downstream area and reaches 79% of the entire area. Pepe Sub-watershed, (2) the adaptation that can be used by farmers in the Pepe Sub-watershed area is to take river water with a water pump, this is considered to be more effective, efficient and easier to do.
