Abstract

This study aims to describe the process, constraints, and solutions for implementing the function of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in governance in Bumiaji Village, Gondang District, Sragen Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were members of the Bumiaji Village Consultative Body, village heads, village officials and community leaders. Interview and documentation techniques. The validity is done by using triangulation of data analysis techniques and triangulation of data sources. The data analysis used was an interactive model analysis. Indicators of implementing the functions of the Village Consultative Body include: (1) Discussing and agreeing on the draft village regulation with the village head, (2) Collecting and channeling the aspirations of the village community, (3) monitoring the performance of the village head. The results showed that the implementation of the function of village regulations had not been carried out properly because there were obstacles in their implementation, namely there was no coordination and cooperation between the village head and the BPD. The function of implementing community aspirations has not materialized because there is no facility such as a 2 BPD office to channel these aspirations. The implementation of the performance function of the Village Head has been carried out well because it supports good coordination and cooperation between institutions in the village.
