Abstract

Muhammadiyah Medical Center Clinic is a clinic of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta that provides health services to the academic community and the general public. The purpose of this research is to identify waste, calculate critical waste, and provide suggestions for improving the clinical service process of Muhammadiyah Medical Center. This study uses a lean healthcare approach. The results show that there is waste that occurs in the clinical service process of Muhammadiyah Medical Center. The waste that occurs is that there is a delay or waiting at the examination and at the pharmacy, new patients do not understand the flow of the service process, instructions are available but are not clear to the patient, looking for patient medical records, and there is excess accumulation of medical records on tables and medical record racks. After calculating the weighting of waste, looking for patient medical records is a critical waste that occurs in the MMC clinical service process. Which type of waste unnecessary motion has the highest weight with a score of 38. Recommended recommendations for improvement are the use of electronic medical records, eliminating the search for medical record documents and making medical records manually, installing more detailed and larger service flow diagrams. , installation of clinic plans or layouts in addition to service flow diagrams, more ergonomic conditioning of work area registration officers, and installation of patient service information monitor displays.
