Abstract

Drought is a major disaster that needs to be built in most of the Bengawan Solo watershed, more precisely the Temon Sub-watershed (Watershed) in Indonesia. The problem of drought is caused by reduced carrying capacity of the Temon Sub-watershed and low to moderate rainfall. The objectives of this study were (1) How to aggravate the potential for drought in the Temon Sub-watershed, (2) How to adapt the farmer community to dealing with drought in the Temon Sub-watershed. This research method uses a survey method with a sampling method (Random Sample) to determine the object of farmers by collecting secondary data and primary data. The results of this study (1) That most of the areas in the Temon sub-watershed have a moderate level of potential. This drought is not only caused by the rainfall factor, but also the type of soil, geological factors also affect the drought. It can be seen that the average dry month in the Temon Sub-watershed has a total of 137 with an average of 44-47 in the rain station in the Temon Sub-watershed and it can be concluded that the climate and rainfall in the Temon Sub-Basin area has a (moderate) climate. (2) Whereas there are farmers in the Temon Sub-watershed from the high, medium and low potential classes of the majority of the community and are effective in overcoming drought.
