Abstract
The purpose of this research is to describe the values of character education contained in the novel Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata using sociology of literature, and to compile teaching materials from the research results of the novel Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata for high school class XI. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data from this research is focused on the values of character education reviewed by the sociology of literature. The primary data source of this research is the novel Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata published by PT BentangPustaka in its third print in April 2012 with a thickness of 248 pages and a paper size of 13.5x20.5 cm. Secondary data sources in this study are articles obtained from internet sources. The data collection techniques used in this study were library, listening, and reading techniques. The data validity technique in this study used theoretical triangulation. Based on the analysis carried out, it can be concluded as follows: (1) Found eleven values of character education in Andrea Hirata's novel Sang Pemimpi (2) implementation of research results as teaching materials in high school class XI with KD 3.11 adjusted to Permendikbud number 37 of 2018.
