Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a disease that is often suffered by everyone, hypertension itself sometimes has symptoms that are not known by sufferers. Objective: The purpose of this study aims to determine how the influence of classical music therapy on changes in blood pressure in people with hypertension. Methods: This study used a quantitative method with a pre-post test research design (Quasy experiment), the data analysis used was the Wicoxon test. The sample in this study was taken using a purposive sampling technique, respondents were hypertension sufferers in Lengking village with 81 respondents. The instruments in this study used tensimeter, and classical music. Data processing techniques using univariate and bivariate tests Results: hypertension sufferers mostly suffered by respondents aged 56-65 years, with sufferers mostly suffered by women, the average respondents were elementary school level, more respondents were not working, most respondents no history of smoking. Before and after therapy there is a change in blood pressure with a p-value of 0,000. It is expected that health services can provide maximum information and services to community, especially those who do not or do not understand hypertension.
