Abstract

Hypertension is a world health issue known as the silent killer disease. Some of the risk factors that cause hypertension are age, smoking, obesity, abdominal circumference, risky food consumption patterns, central obesity, diet, and physical activity. It is important to study the literature regarding abdominal circumference with hypertension to determine the extent to which this research can be implicated as a basis for policy making in preventing and controlling hypertension. The research was conducted using a literature review of the literature in the form of journal publications sourced from electronic databases such as Sinta and Garuda Portal. The inclusion criteria used were full text articles with case-control and cross-sectional research designs, research on the incidence of hypertension in Indonesia, published in 2015-2020, and at least indexed by sex 3. The majority of central obesity associated with hypertension occurs in males of productive age. Men of productive age are more likely to spend their time working than exercising or doing other physical activities. So that to minimize the occurrence of central obesity and hypertension, it can be done by implementing the GERMAS (Healthy Living Community Movement) program, which is routine physical activity to maintain the size of the abdominal circumference and routine health checks as preventive measures.
