Abstract

Creative thinking skills will be able to form creative individuals who can answer the challenges of globalization so they can compete in any condition. The purpose of this study is to find out how the profile of the creative thinking abilities of Biology Education students of FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta Class 2016 2019/2020 Academic Year in solving environmental biology problems. In this study the indicators of creative thinking ability tested were fluency, flexibility, and elaboration. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with data collection techniques through the provision of tests of creative thinking skills in the form of a description that was previously validated from the questions. The results of this study indicate the value of the students' creative thinking ability test on each indicator namely fluency of 63.43% is well interpreted, flexibility of 67.91% is well interpreted, and elaboration as much as 66.79% is well interpreted. The average level of creative thinking ability for three indicators is 66.04%
