In the electric power system there are high voltage main equipment, one of them is generator. High voltage equipment insulation systems play an important role for the normal operation of the equipment. Damage to electrical equipment generally occurs in insulation, so monitoring needs to be done to maintain the quality in insulation. One way to detect the presence of partial discharge in the insulation. Partial discharger occurs because insulation experiences high electric field pressure. Partial discharge for a long time will cause damage to the insulation. This research was conducted at the Gresik PLTGU block GT 1.3. by testing using the OMICRON Partial Discharge Monitoring tool and checking visually. This research was conducted to determine the actual state of the quality of generator insulation in PLTGU Gresik block GT 1.3. Partial discharge signal detection is often the presence of noise (noise) which can cause inaccurate readings, noise (noise) in the medium category (<10 nC). The results of the study show that partial discharge exceeds the standard measurement of partial discharge classified as in poor condition, that is> 30 nC in each phase (U, V, W). The maximum partial discharge characteristic of the load increases with the increase in voltage and the highest occurs in the U phase which is a voltage of 60% (3.60 KV) a maximum charge of 8.35 nC, 80% voltage (4.80 KV) maximum load of 26.53 nC, and a maximum voltage of 100% (6.06 KV) load of 31.8 nC.
