Abstract

Pacitan Regency, East Java Province is one of the areas in the South Coast of Java, such as Gunungkidul Regency, Bantul Regency, and Kulonprogo Regency. These areas have the potential for earthquake disasters because of the megatrust located on the South Coast of Java Island. This study aims to analyze the level of risk for earthquakes in the Pacitan regency. The determination of the level of risk for earthquakes in this study uses the concept of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction in which the risk value is obtained from the hazard value multiplied by the vulnerability value. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the calculation of hazard and vulnerability values are compared with maps from the National Disaster Management Agency to consider in determining the level of earthquake risk. Areas in Pacitan Regency that have a high risk of earthquakes include Pacitan and Tulakan Districts. Areas that have moderate risk include Donorojo District, Pringkuku District, Nawangan District, Bandar District and Tegalombo District. While the areas that have a low risk include Punung District, Arjosari District, Kebonagung District, Ngadirojo District and Sudimoro District.
