Abstract

Education is a major element that can not be separated from human life. In general education is divided into 2 parts, namely formal education and informal education. In this case the library is an informal education that is useful for accessing information through reading books and record works. The main purpose of the library is to aim to educate and help the general public to be more responsive in facing the progress of various fields of science, and social life in the community. The role of libraries also affects the development of children. Early childhood who are diligent in reading will form a cognitive system that is useful for the development of thinking. However, in reality, every region in Indonesia has different levels of educational resources and quality. Lack of cultural interest in reading books, and more often lazing on students causes the quality of human resource education in one of the areas to be left behind. Education in Blora has decreased the quality of education. This is caused by a lack of cultural interest in reading books, and more often lazing on students causes the quality of education to decline. So there needs to be an effort to increase interest in reading books, especially in early childhood. With the interest in reading books, it will open our horizons to be more advanced. Child-friendly library in Blora is one way to increase the interest in reading books to children. The application of child-friendly concepts that prioritizes comfort, safety, and fulfillment of children's needs so that children are diligent in reading books and able to improve the quality of education in Blora.
