Abstract
This study aims to 1) describe the constructive stucture of the novel Luka by Fanny J. Pyok, 2) to explain the value of character education cantained in novel Luka by Fanny J. Pyok, 3) to describe the relevance of the value of character education as teaching material in high school. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data contained in this study are in the form of word, sentences, quotes on novels. Data collection techniques. The validity of the data used were theory triangulation and data triangulation. The results of this study are the main character Nyoman and additional figures are Tina, Made Liani, Wayan Darta, Nirmala, Adnyana, Wayan Gunarsa, Bape and Meme, Nyoman’s parent, Eileen. The setting occurs in 1992, the social setting of the novel Luka by Fanny J. Pyok, the the environment where Nyoman and Made Liani lives still closely holds the customs around where they live, and Nyoman recuits local residents to work in his convection business. There are 15 values of character education in this study 1) the value of religius character education, 2) the value of honest character education, 3) the value of tolerance character education, 4) the value of discipline character education, 5) the value of hard work character education, 6) the value of creative character education, 7) the value of independent character education, 8) the value of curiosity character education, 9) the value of character education for the love of the country, 10) the value of character education for achievement, 11) the value of character education is friendly/communicative, 12) the value character education for envionmental care, 13) the value of social care character education, 14) the value of responsibility character education, 15) the value of character education respecting achievement. This research is relevant as teaching material in high school class XI at KD 3.11 to analyze the messages from a fiction book that is read.
