Abstract

Water spinach is one of the vegetables consumed by the community, as an effort to increase production, hydroponic cultivation of water spinach can be carried out, as well as an effort to reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers, adding liquid organic fertilizer made from banana stems because it contains N, P, and K which is beneficial for plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the application of liquid organic fertilizer for banana stems and AB-mix on the growth of land and water spinach plants hydroponically, with the parameters of the growth of land and water spinach plants in the form of plant height, fresh weight, and dry weight. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial with 2 factors, and 3 replications. Data were analyzed using two way ANOVA and LAN LSD (Least Significant Defference) test at alpha 0.05. The results showed that there was a significant effect of giving POC banana stems and AB-mix on fresh weight and dry weight of water spinach and water spinach plants, but there was no significant effect on plant height. The best growth for height, fresh weight and dry weight of ground and water kale are K1P0 (ground water spinach with AB-mix 100%) and K2P1 (water spinach with banana stem POC 15% and AB-mix 85%).
