Abstract
The industrialization process is one of the government steps in advancing the economic level. One of them is the construction of the PT. Semen Gresik Rembang, Tbk in Gunem District. This research has the aim of knowing the social, economic and environmental impacts after the existence of a cement factory, especially in the communities in the Ring 1 area which includes Kajar Village, Kadiwono Village, Timbrangan Village, Tegaldowo Village, and Pasucen Village. The method used by surveying the community as the head of the family was 3198 family cards. Based on the large population, the sampling was carried out using the proportional area sampling method and the sampling method using the convenience sampling method. The sample calculation using the Slovin method obtained 356 respondents covering 53 samples of Kajar Village, 58 samples of Timbrangan Village, 169 samples of Tegaldowo Village, 37 Sapel Pasucen Village, and 39 Kadiwono Village samples. The results of this study indicate the existence of the PT. Semen Gresik Rembang, Tbk has social impacts, economic impacts, and environmental impacts. The social impact of the existence of the cement industry has led to a decrease in the level of interaction among residents due to differences in opinion on the construction of a cement factory, the emergence of jealousy due to the marginalization of workers among residents who can work in a cement factory and do not work in a factory, the assistance of the CSR cement factory house renovation is unfit for habitation in this period Once a year, the construction of vocational vocational education facilities in Gunem District. The economic impact of the community obtaining an increase in income, Kajar Village has increased by an average of 24%, Timbrangan Village has increased by an average of 29%, Tegaldowo Village has increased by an average of 31%, Pasucen Village has increased by an average of 15% , and Kadiwono Village experienced an average increase of 32%. The opening of new jobs for the community, both working in cement factories and outside the factory, assistance in the field of education through scholarship programs and job training, but due to dust from the operational process of vehicles transporting raw materials for cement, the cost increases to treat the dust which causes the community to be affected respiratory diseases and sore eyes. Apart from the social and economic impacts, the presence of industry has an impact on the environment, the community feels air pollution and noise when the factory operates due to dust from project operational vehicles and noise generated during limestone bombing.
