Abstract

This research is based on research on the industry which still focuses only a lot on the economic field and does not discuss or focus on the geography of the distribution and location of the industry. Blangkon handicraft industry was chosen as the object of research because the blangkon handicraft industry is a home industry that still uses traditional methods and is an industry that is synonymous with culture, especially with Javanese culture. Blangkon handicraft industry that still uses traditional methods and has not used technology makes this industry vulnerable to the sustainability and preservation of the culture of Java itself. So from this reasoning, the background of the researchers is to make the blangkon handicraft industry as the object of research so that the results of research on industrial distribution patterns and factors in selecting industrial locations can support the sustainability of the blangkon industry and the preservation of blangkon culture. In this study has discussed the location factors and aims to: (1) Determine the distribution pattern of the blangkon handicraft industry in Serengan District. (2) Analyzing the factors that influence the selection of the location of the blangkon craft industry in Serengan District. The method used in this study is to use survey methods, by conducting censuses and in-depth interviews and then processed the results of the blangkon industry distribution based on the results of plotting and sorting the results of interviews. The results of the calculation of the distribution pattern of Blangkon Craft Industry in Serengan District using the calculation of the nearest neighbor analysis produces a value or number 0.03, then the distribution pattern based on the classification is sure to produce a grouping pattern because if the value produced (T) = 0-0.7 formed patterns are clustered patterns. Factors that influence the choice of Blangkon Handicraft industry location in Serengan District include the distance to the main road, the location of origin of raw materials, price of raw materials, and marketing locations. The location of raw materials close to industrial locations is a major factor in the choice of industrial locations. This is because it causes the price of raw materials to become cheaper or at the lowest cost.
