Abstract

The purpose of this study is 1. Knowing the level of welfare of street vendors in the CFD area of Surakarta City and Karanganyar Regency, 2. Knowing the factors that affect the level of welfare of street vendors in the City of Surakarta and Karanganyar CFD areas. The method used in this study is a survey method by finding information directly in the field using a questionnaire. The response in this study was the street vendors in the City of Surakarta and Karanganyar Regency who were on time during the CFD event every weekend. This study uses stratified quota sampling (sampling quota) as a sampling technique with a total of 50 respondents street vendors who are subdivided to represent 2 regions of Surakarta and Karanganyar.Based on the results of the study obtained statements: (1) comparison of merchant welfare: dependents of the merchant family in Karanganyar is lower than the dependents of the merchant family in Surakarta because many family members live in one house so as to make the burden on the head of the family heavier, health and nutrition of the merchant family in Karanganyar superior, but for better Surakarta health facilities and infrastructure, merchant education in Surakarta shows higher results even though there are still some traders whose education is only up to elementary, merchant income in Karanganyar has on average greater than traders in Surakarta because of the large number of traders in Karanganyar there are not as many traders in Surakarta, the environmental condition of traders in Karanganyar is higher with a small window. This is the same as the comparison of poverty of traders in Surakarta and Karanganyar. (2) The existence of several main factors that affect the welfare of traders in Surakarta City and Karanganyar District CFDs, namely family dependency factors, education factors, family member factors and income factors.
