Abstract

The purpose of this research are (1) to analyze the availability of high school educational facilities in Ponorogo Regency, seen in terms of meeting the needs of their communities, (2) Knowing the pattern of distribution of high school education facilities in Ponorogo Regency, (3) to analyze every factor that influence the distribution of high school educational facilities. The methods used in this research is secondary data analysis. Data analysis using quantitative descriptive technique, nearest neighbour analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis. Data processing using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and SPSS. The results obtained from this research are (1) there is one district that does not have a high school education facility which is a Pudak district. Of the 21 district that already meets the needs of educational acilities are Ponorogo, Babadan, Jenangan, Mlarak, Jetis, Kauman, Ngrayun, Slahung,and Balong district, (2) the distribution pattern of high school in each region is dominated by random and dispersed patterns. Whereas the extent of high school education service facilities shows that districts that have covered most of the village are Babadan, Jenangan, Jetis, Kauman, Ponorogo, Sambit, and Simab with a percentage of 100%, (3)based on multiple linear regression analysis, the impact of the seven independent variables on the distribution of a high school education facilities is 76,4%. While the independent variables significantly affect the distribution of high school are school needs and comfort of the school environment with a Sig value 0,01 and 0,02 and an effective contribution of 50% and 16,43%.
