Abstract

This research was conducted to achieve the objectives, namely 1) Describe the structure of the folklore Kyai Ageng Sutawijaya. 2) Express the community's response to the function of Kyai Ageng Sutawijaya's folklore in education. The research methods used 1) Listen and note techniques are done by reading, understanding folklore contained in a book titled Revealing the Story of the Kyai Ageng Sutawijaya Model in Majasto Harghana (1997) and the note taking technique is done after the researcher reads the subject, then reads the results related to the research recorded to find out how the structure of folklore Kyai Ageng Sutawijaya. 2) Questionnaire technique is used to determine the public response to the function of Kyai Ageng Sutawijaya folklore in education. The questionnaire was distributed to 35 respondents in Majasto community. Results of the study 1) The intrinsic structure of the Kyai Ageng Sutawijaya folklore includes themes, characters or characterizations, plot, setting and message. 2) The response of the Majasto community to the Kyai Ageng Sutawijaya folklore namely 100% of the majasto community agreed on the function of the Kyai Ageng Sutawijaya folklore in education, educating them to obey Allah SWT.
