Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest rattan producing countries in the world with rattan furniture exports reaching 6.5 billion rupiah in 2016. One of the largest export industries of rattan furniture is PT. Kharisma Rattan Mandiri. Industries in Luwang Village, Gatak Subdistrict, gave up a lot of labor coming from the Luwang Village community. The existence of the industry provides economic and social impacts on the people of Luwang Village. This is evidenced by the statement of the luwang village cadus, many people who have professional profession work as laborers in the industry with a percentage reaching 12.2% ranked second out of the entire profession of Luwang Village residents and many residents who trade around the industry. This study aims to (1) know the characteristics of workers who work in the rattan industry of PT. Kharisma Rotan Mandiri and residing in Luwang Village, Gatak District, Sukoharjo Regency in 2020 and (2) to analyze the influence of the rattan industry of PT. The Charisma of Independent Rattan on the socio-economic conditions of the community in Luwang Village, Gatak District, Sukoharjo Regency in 2020. The method used in this research is a survey, accompanied by interviews using a questionnaire with a sampling quota technique. This study uses 2 types of samples, namely samples for social influence (population) and samples for economic influence (workers and traders). The data obtained were processed by coding and tabulation to produce a table used for qualitative descriptive analysis with an ecological approach. The research results obtained (1) the characteristics of workers in general are workers aged 40 - 49 years (57%), the workforce who works is dominated by male workers (61%), the marital status of workers is married / married (69%) and The highest level of education is SMP / SLTP (52%) and (2) the influence of industry on the socio-economic conditions of the population in Luwang Village. The influence of the industry on the social conditions of the people of Luwang Village can be seen from the pattern of cooperation, lifestyle, and deviant behavior. The pattern of industrial cooperation from providing job vacancies is 46% and social activities for the community are 54%. The lifestyle of the population affects 41%. The deviant behavior that occurs before and after the existence of the industry is very low, 43% to a low 38%. The influence of the industry on the economic conditions of the residents of Luwang Village can be seen in terms of an increase in workers' income by Rp. 0 - Rp. 500,000 and traders by> Rp. 1,500,000.
