Abstract
The purpose of this study is to characterize the bengkirai charcoal particles from the collision of the High Energy Ball Milling (HEBM) Machine and further heating In this study a study of Teak Wood Charcoal particles produced from an incomplete combustion process and using the collision method with a shaker mills model. Characteristics of particles with the PSA test, SEM test and EDX test to analyze carbon particle size, surface morphology and chemical composition contained in the collision material. From the results of the PSA test, at 2.5 million cycles of collision obtained the smallest size of 1,320 µm with a volume of 0.003%, the largest size of 15,157 µm with a volume of 0.003%, and the most volume at a size of 4,472 µm with a volume of 21,109%. 2.5 million cycles produce various sizes and shapes of test samples into large, large, round, oval and various other irregular shapes. EDX test results produce, carbon, C 94.44%, Magnesium Oxide, MgO 0.24%, Alumina, Al2O3 0.24%, Silica Dioxide, SiO2 2.80%, Potassium Oxide, K2O 0.43%, Calcium Oxide , CaO 0.68, Copper (II) Oxide, 0.73% CuO, Zinc Oxide, ZnO 0.44%.
