Abstract
This study highlights the influence of the mechanism of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) on the profitability of the food and beverage industry in Indonesia. The GCG mechanisms used in this study are Institutional Ownership, Board of Directors, and Independent Board of Commissioners. The profitability ratio used in this study, which uses the level of return on equity (ROE). This study uses secondary data from food and beverage companies in 2018 obtained through the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Data analysis methods used for this research are: classic assumption test, multiple regression test, goodness of fit test, and hypothesis testing. The results of this study indicate that the Institutional Ownership, Board of Directors, and Independent Board of Commissioners simultaneously have a significant effect on ROE. Partially, the Independent Board of Commissioners has a significant influence on ROE. On the other hand, the regression coefficient shows that Institutional ownership has a positive but not significant value and the Board of Directors has a negative and insignificant value on ROE.
