Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In early 2019 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) in children aged 0-14 years in Indonesia were 1.18% of the total number of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) sufferers in Indonesia. According to the Governor of Central Java, the number of cases of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) in Central Java Province in 2018 reached 49,616. Surakarta City occupies the sixth position of all cities in Central Java Province. This 2 study aims to analyze the relationship of knowledge and behavior of family members to access information through social media as a companion for taking medicine for patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) in children in Surakarta and its implementation. This research is an observational survey with the cross sectional approach with a sample of 54 children. The results of this study indicate that, there is no relationship between the variable of, access to Information through social media (p = 0.517) with the knowledge of family as a companion to taking medicine, and there is no relationship between the variable of, access to information through social media (p = 1,000) with the behavior of family as a companion taking medicine for patients with pulmonary TB in Surakarta.
