Abstract

ABSTRACT Islamic Boarding School Tahfidzul Qur'an Muhammadiyah Atmo Wahjono is an Islamic educational institution for female vocational high school (SMK). This institution focuses on memorizing al-Qur'an, the students are targeted to complete 30 juz of Al-Qur'an on 3 years. Since its establishment, the pesantren has applied the Muraja’ah method in the process of improving the memorization of students, which method is deemed effective enough to improve the recitation of the Qur'an. The author examines, how the application of the Muraja’ah method improve the memorization of the santri in the Islamic Boarding School Tahfidzul Qur'an Muhammadiyah Atmo Wahjono and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for the application of the Muraja’ah method, in which the researcher focuses on describing the application of the Muraja’ah method improving memorization of students, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its application. This study uses a qualitative type that uses field studies at the Islamic Boarding School Tahfidzul Qur’an Muhammadiyah Atmo wahjono. The technique of collection data through observation, interviews, and documentation from several parts of the school. Data analysis uses a phenomenological qualitative approach that begins with data reduction, then the presentation of data and drawing conclusions using the deductive method. This research results can be concluded that the application of the Muraja’ah method in improving the Al Qur`an memorization for the students at the Tahfidzul Qur'an Boarding School Muhammadiyah Atmo Wahjono is going well and effectively. While the implementation time is carried out 2 times, after dzuhur at 12:30 WIB with a friend, then after ashar at 15.15 WIB Muraja’ah together with the ustadzah. The stages of the Muraja’ah method that is, opening with greetings then reads the Surah Al-Fatihah and study prayer, the ustadzah presents the material briefly. Muraja’ah memorization in turns that is repeating / memorizing rote to the ustadzah, dan evaluation to test the understanding of students, the last step is closing.
