Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine 1) the effect of hands on activity on learning intensity; 2) the effect of distance to school on learning intensity; 3) the effect of learning intensity on economic learning achievement; 4) the effect of hands on activity on student achievement both directly and through the intensity of learning; 5) the effect of distance to school on student economic learning achievement both directly and through the intensity of learning. The research population of class XI IPS SMA N 1 Kartasura, namely 175 students. Samples were taken by 89 students. Data collection methods documentation and questionnaire methods. The data analysis method uses simple regression analysis and path analysis. The results obtained by the regression equation Z = 0.645 X1 + (-0.101) X2 + e1 and Y = 0.678 X1 + (-0.075) X2 + 0.804 Z + e2. The regression equation shows 1) there is a significant positive effect between hands on activity on learning intensity seen from beta (β) 0,645 with a significant level of 0,000; 2) there is no positive and insignificant influence between distance to school on learning intensity as seen from the value of beta (β) -0.101 with a significant level of 0.344; 3) there is a significant positive influence between the intensity of learning on economic learning achievement seen from the beta value (β) 0.804 with a significant value of 0,000; 4) the path analysis results have an indirect effect between hands on activity on economic learning achievement through learning intensity 0.678 with a total effect of 0.678 + 0.518 = 1.196. 5) the results of the path analysis have no effect between distance to school on economic learning achievement through learning intensity -0,081 with a total effect of -0,075 + (-0,081) = -0,156.
