Abstract

This study has two objectives, namely: (1) Describe the form of politeness in the language of Purwosari village, Jurangjero village, Karangmalang district, Sragen regency. (2) Describe the principle of politeness in language in Purwosari village, Jurangjero village, Karangmalang district, Sragen regency. (3) Describe the language politeness scale spoken by the community in Purwosari village, Jurangjero village, Karangmalang district, Sragen regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data source in this study is oral data taken at the Purwosari village. This data collection technique is done by recording technique, which is a data collection teachnique used by recording informant conversations, especially those related to the problem under study. Data analysis method used is the equilent method. The basic technique referred to “the choice element determinant or PUP technique. Data analysis in this research has been done since the process of collecting data and for the validity of the data techniques in this study using the theory trianggulation technique. Based on the analysis of language politeness data in Purwosari village, Jurangjero sub-district, Karangmalang subdistrict, Sragen regency, there are 9 data on the principle of politeness in language spoken by teenagers, namely: (a) speech containing maxim of wisdom 2 utterances, (b) utterance containing maxim of acceptance of 1 utterance, (c) utterance containing maxim of generosity of 1 utterance, (d) utterance which contains maxims of humility 1 utterance, (e) utterances that contain a maximal compatibility of 1 utterance, and (f) utterances that contain a maximal sympathy of 3 utterances. There are five language politeness scales in the speech of adolescent children, namely (a) speech which contains a profit and loss scale of 1 speech, (b) speech containing a choice of 1 speech scale, (c) speech containing a continuation scale of 1 speech, (d) utterances that contain an authoritative scale of 1 utterance, (e) utterances containing a social distance scale of 1 utterance.
