Abstract
Prone to drought is a condition of the region when the dry season has the opportunity for lack of water. Sub DAS Keduang is in Wonogiri Regency which often experiences drought, the impact of drought on farmers can lead to harvest failure and damaged land. The purpose of this study is; (1) Analyzing the distribution of areas experiencing drought of prone in Sub DAS Keduang, (2) Analyze the implications on drought of prone areas in Sub DAS Keduang, (3) Analyzing adaptation strategies of farmers in drought of prone areas in Sub DAS Keduang. The method used in this study is a survey method for sampling, analytical methods used to answer these objectives are overlays, correlation analysis, spatial analysis and descriptive analysis. overlay with parameters of rainfall, temperature, slope, soil type and river buffering, then divided into 3 classes, low, medium and high. Correlation and spatial analysis looks at the relationship between losses suffered due to disasters and drought, descriptive analysis is used to analyze farmers' adaptation strategies in drought of prone areas in Sub DAS Keduang. The results of the study are (1) Distribution of drought prone areas low class with an area of 9056.25 Ha, medium class with an area of 26094.73 Ha and high class 4585.32 Ha. (2) Based on calculations with the STATA 14.2 application, it gets a result of 0.4808 which shows the magnitude of the closeness of the two variables in other words (3) Adaptation strategies by taking river water with water pumps as many as 16 respondents, making artificial irrigation channels 7 respondents, harvesting rainwater from 1 respondent, rotating plant 27 respondents and make a wellbore or dig 9 respondents, total respodents obtained are 60 respondents. This study shows that the most dominant adaptation strategy is a plant rotation with 45% percentage.
