Abstract
This study emphasizes the main issues about learning containing core character values that are integrated with economic learning. The study was conducted to find out: 1) Preparing the curriculum. 2) Preparation of teaching staff. 3) Implementation of the inculcation of core character values. 4) Evaluation of the inculcation of core character values in economic learning in MAM Klaten. This research approach uses descriptive qualitative research. The study was conducted at MAM Klaten, from October to December 2019. The research subjects were Madrasah Economics Teachers. Head informant and deputy head of madrasah in the field of curriculum.Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The data validity technique uses source triangulation. Data analysis techniques using interactive methods, data collection, data presentation, data reduction and conclusion drawing. The results of the study revealed 1) The preparation of the curriculum was carried out starting the preparation of Prota, Promes and RPP that reflected the inculcation of character values in economic learning in MAM Klaten explicitly in the Core Competencies (KI) section.KI-1 Competence for spiritual attitude, KI-2 Competence in social attitude as the actualization of religious values and mutual cooperation values, KI-3 is actually of nationalist values and values of independence, and KI-4 is actualization of values of integrity.2) The ability of teachers to carry out the inculcation of core character values, requires teachers to understand that substantive character education cannot be done in economic learning. So the teacher must apply reflective learning which is a learning process by linking the essence of the material with the character values to be developed.3) Implementation of the inculcation of core character values adjusts to the material presented. For economic material in class X, XI uses the CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) approach, with methods: question and answer, interview, discussion, and role playing. As for accounting material class XII, it uses a scientific approach, using the PBL (Problem Based learning) model, with methods: lectures, discussions, questions and answers and assignments.4) The results of program evaluation need improvement programs where the inculcation of core character values in economic learning is not only in the methods used in learning, but also needs to improve the teacher's expertise in linking the essence of the material with the core character values that want to develop.
