Abstract

Stamping process generally involves the forming that is limited by cracks, geometric shape defects such as wrinkles, springback and thinning. The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of the stamping bottom outer hatch back process results with SCGA material to reduce wrinkling and thinning defects. The analysis is performed using the stamping simulation method with AutoForm software, the object used is the bottom outer hatch back. This forming simulation research varied 2 types of dies, original dies and modified dies with a friction coefficient (µ) of 0.15, Blank Holder Force 30 KN, pressure force 300 KN, and material thickness 0.8 mm. Information on material changes and the size of the safe and non-safe blank areas are obtained from the Forming Limit Diagram (FLD) chart. The results of the study using original dies obtained the highest Thinning values in the second and third stages in area A is 0.771. The highest value of Area B in the fourth stage is 0.38. The highest Thinning value with modified dies in the fourth stage in both areas, area A is 0.375 and area B is 0.191. Wrinkling using original dies and modified dies has increased at each stage. The highest wrinkling of the two dies is shown in the fourth stage in both areas. The highest wrinkling value in the drawing process using original dies is area A of 0.299 and area B of 0.147. The highest wrinkling value using dies modified is area A is 0.227 and area B is 0.097. Based on Nonlinear FLD chart analysis, the two dies used are still not safe because there is cracking on the material.
