Abstract
The object of the study is a movie She’s The Man directed by Andy Fickman. The study is to reveal how Viola’s struggle to be a soccer player is reflected in She’s The Man directed by Andy Fickman published in 2006. The objective of the study is to analyze the structural elements in the movie and to analyze Viola’s struggle to be a soccer player based on feminist approach. The researcher employs the descriptive qualitative research as a type of the research. The data sources are divided into two, namely primary data source and secondary data source. The primary data source is the events of the movie and script of She’s The Man and the secondary data source is biography of character. The method of collecting data is documentation. The technique of analyzing data is descriptive. The results of the study are as follows. First, based on the structural analysis, Andy Fickman delivers a moral message that women are not weak in the men area and the structural elements are related to each other and form a unity. Second, based on the feminist analysis, Andy Fickman reflects gender discrimination in the society that places women as inferior
