Abstract

Abstract The city of Surakarta is faced with a problem about the need for shelter for residents who are temporary considering that the city of Surakarta has a campus of more than 50 universities which we need to know the need for housing will continue to grow considering that PTS and PTN in Surakarta continues to increase in the number of registrants and the number the students. Then with the increase in the number if it is not handled properly then what will happen is the imposition of land for housing, boarding for example. as happened in the author's environment. Even worse, it is not only land that is forced to use buildings for unsuitable dwellings or in Javanese language "sak-sake tok". They are landowners in the campus environment because their interest is to make a profit by increasing students and then how to solve this problem? , let us update it turns out that the city of Surakarta has already planned an apartment building in Solo Urbana in Mojosongo. But the problem of absorption will only occur next to the imbalance between the other sides, for example the southwest side of the city of Surakarta, the best solution is to build vertical housing because with limited land able to absorb quite a lot, but as a Muslim I miss student apartments with Islamic architectural concepts as forms or reflections my love for ISLAM and the prophet MUHAMMAD SAW so that cultural heritage in the form of Islamic style can continue to be sustainable.
