Abstract

The availability of ground water which is starting to run low is influenced by the condition of the region experiencing long drought, so to overcome this problem one of the solutions used is to look for the potential of ground water to meet the needs of living things. The purpose of this study is (1) to determine rock types based on resistivity values in Tulung District and (2) to determine groundwater potential in Tulung District. This research was conducted with the Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method in Tulung District, Klaten Regency. The potential of ground water in an area is influenced by the characteristics of the constituent rock layers. The results showed that the rock layer consisted of clay, sand, gravel, limestone, adnesite, basalt, and dolomite. The aquifer layer has a resistivity value of type 0.5-300 Ωm, while the aquiclud layer has a resistivity value of type> 300 Ωm. The thickness of the layer ranges from 2, 10, to 30 m with a depth of ± 100 m. Measurements in Majegan Village to consider the presence of ground water are recommended for drilling reaching depths of 30-60 m from the ground surface, while measurements in Mundu Village are recommended for drilling reaching depths of 80-100 m from ground level.
