Abstract

Citywalk on Museum Road As a Public Open Space is a section of the road in the Sriwedari area, Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia by applying pedestrian paths to move or move from one place to destination where there is a place or open space for people who come. The method through observation, literature study, data processing, data analysis in order to obtain the results of the design of Citywalk on the Museum road as a public open space that is more useful for pedestrians and surrounding communities. The purpose of the Citywalk Design on the Jalan Sriwedari regional museum, Surakarta is to design and organize the Museum's road into a city walk and public open space. Citywalk comes in the form of a pedestrian corridor that connects several existing commercial and retail functions. This corridor is open (without ac) and wide enough between 6-12m depending on the type of activity to be created. Citywalk as a commercial corridor should be able to provide a sense of comfort from the tropical climate in Indonesia such as heat and rain. Intersections on the citywalk corridor are often used as open spaces for stage performances. This space also functions as a connector or pool of building masses which are usually divided.
