Abstract

The rampant moral crisis experienced by students in Indonesia, the school as a means of character development seeks to instill noble character to students through the process of internalization. The purpose of this study are to describe the character values in SMA Muhammadiyah Pangkalpinang and to describe how the internalization of the character in SMA Muhammadiyah Pangkalpinang. This is a qualitative research and an ethnographic design. The data collection are observation, indept interview, and documentation. The research result showed that there are the religious values, decipline, responsibility, and love cleanliness was internalized to student of SMA Muhammadiyah Pangkalpinang. Those values are internalized through learning activities and learning activities outside such as religious activities, extracurricular activities, as well as the annual program. Religious values instilled through subjects, activities Dhuha prayer, midday, Asr and Friday prayers in congregation, tadarus Qur'an, infaq, smile, say hello, greeting habituation. Value discipline instilled through the flag ceremony and document the school rules. Values of responsibility instilled through customs in the classroom, assignments, and the annual program. While the value of love cleanliness implanted through regular operations and activities of daily picket. Students at SMA Muhammadiyah Pangkalpinang have implemented these values in our daily lives to be a habit. Keywords: Internalization, Value Character, Implementation
