Abstract
The major problem of this study is to reveal the class struggle in Mutiny On The Bounty (1935) movie. The objective of this study is to analyze the movie based on its structural elements and based on Marxist approach. In analyzing Mutiny On The Bounty (1935), the writer uses qualitative method and Marxist approach. The object of the study is Frank Lloyd’s Mutiny On The Bounty movie published in 1935 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The primary data source is the script, and the secondary data sources are the other data related to the analysis such as the author’s biography and some reference books. The method of data collection is library research by collecting and recording both of the primary and secondary data. The technique of data analysis used in this study is descriptive analysis. The study comes to the following conclusions. First, based on the structural analysis, Frank Lloyd wants to deliver a message that is being repressed, people tend to revolt against oppression and struggle for their freedom. Second, based on the Marxist analysis, Frank Lloyd wants to describe the struggle of the labor against capitalist or capital owner.
