Abstract
Data from BPBD of Matesih Subdistrict over the past 8 years from 2012-2019 has always been increasing so there are 66 points of landslides. Matesih District has topographic characteristics that start from waves, hills to mountains with altitude varying from gentle slopes to very steep between 15 – 30%. The cause of landslides is related to rain, namely rainfall with high intensity in a short time so that it can hit areas with unstable soil conditions. The purpose of this study is 1) Determine the level of potential landslide vulnerability and 2) Determine how to mitigate landslides in the study area. The research method uses a survey method to determine the point of occurrence of landslides with factual information, using stratified purposive sampling technique so that in this study adjusted to the research unit in the from of districts with samples adjusted to the number of land units in the study area. The method for analysis uses qualitative analysis methods using land units and slope. The research resulted 1) The results of the survey calculations and measurements for the level of vulnerability is there are 8 land units included in the medium category, namely V9-II-Gru-PMK & TK, V9-II-Med-SI, V9-II-Med-T, V9-III-Med-PMK & TK, V19-II-Med PMK & TK, V19-II-Med-SI, V19-III-Med-PMK & TK and V19-III-Med-Pk. The level of vulnerability is low there are 4 land units, namely V9-I-Gru-SI, V9-I-Med-PMK & TK, V13-I-Gru-PMK & TK and V13-I-Gru-SI. The most dominant level of landslide vulnerability is the level of moderate landslide vulnerability, where there are 8 land units included in the medium category namely V9-II-Gru-PMK&TK, V9-II-Med-SI, V9-II-Med-T, V9-III-Med-PMK&TK, V19-II-Med-PMK&TK, V19-II-Med-SI, V19-III-Med-PMK&TK and V19-III-Med-Pk. The result of this wide percentage in Matesih Subdistrict can be stated that the land unit covering an area of 3370,63 ha or 26,25% of the total area of Matesih Subdistrict and 2) Mitigation efforts in Matesih District there are 3 types of efforts in mitigating landslides , including efforts to mitigate the low level of vulnerability, counseling will be conducted to the community regarding the impact of the use of land that is not in accordance with its requirements, provide a warning sign or prohibition to build on steep slopes or sloping areas and the surrounding community must be able to pay attention to the environment around their respective homes-while, for efforts to mitigate moderate levels of vulnerability by constructing embankments or talud as retaining soil, restructuring the drainage system (waterways) so as not to become clogged and efforts to mitigate high levels of reforestation with green plants with deep root systems and special spacing for slopes steep, with a slope of more than 40 degrees or about 80%, plants should not be too dense and interspersed with shorter and lighter plants, do not erect permanent buildings in cliff areas and unstable soils (ground motion).
