Abstract
This research is aimed to analyze the structural elements of the movie and to discuss struggle of Grace Hart viewed from individual psychology perspective. This research is a descriptive technique. The data are taken from the movie itself, while the secondary data are taken from the other data such as the book related with psychological analysis which have relation with the research. The result of study shows that firstly, there is a close relationship between Miss Congeniality movie and individual psychology, particularly in human striving for superiority. Miss Congeniality composed by Donald Petrie is about human strive for getting their goal of life that begins from the feeling of weakness in gender, but in this condition they feel comfort enough with their condition, but for their duty they must change and defeat the feeling of inferiority. To compensate this feeling, human is forced to attempt to strive for their superiority. In this section, human will have an idea to rearch their goal of life, they will have fictional finalism, which guides them to be superior or perfect. Even the fictional finalism is only an imagination on their mind but it can push human effort emotionally. Then supported by human creative power and human social interest, human will strive to be superior and attempt to compensate their feeling of inferior. In Miss Congeniality movie, Hart must change into the real human nature as a woman. It is difficult for her, because she is a woman who hates feminism and on the other side, she acts also like a man. So the struggle for life of Hart such as: Hart walks like a man, eats likes a man, fights like a man also, this is to defeat her inferiority. But one day she must get rid all of that nature, she does undercover to save woman from a terrorist. She must undercover and sneak into the Miss United States scholarship program / beauty pageant in San Antonio. As a Miss United State, feminist is the most important thing. Then here hart needs the expert to change her and the result is amazing, Hart becomes a beautiful woman and she also can arrest the terrorist.
