Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiviness of the scientific approach to the 2013 curriculum to improve learning acchievement and responsible attitudes in class IV Tunggulsari 1 Elementary School. This research is a type of quantitative research with experimental design in the control class and experimental class. The study was conducted in the same class at different times. In the control class applied conventional learning methods (lectures), while in the experimental class using a scientific approach (5M). Data collection techniques used were tests, observations (attitude asessment), and documentation. Data analysis techniques using t-test and multiple classification anava test. The t-tes was used to test the effectiveness of the scientific approach in improving learning achievement and to test the effectiveness of the scientific approach to enhance the attitude of responsibility, while the Anava test was used to test the effectiveness of the scientific approachin improming learning achievement and a responsible attitude. Data analysis was performed with the help of Microsoft Excel. Based on the results of calculation, the results of the test show that the value of tcount > ttable, is 6,14 > 2,04 and 63,51 > 2,04. Anava result also indicate that the value of tcount > ttable, is 2,62 > 2,44. This shows that the scientific approach is tested effective for improving achievement learning and responsible attitude in class IV Tunggulsari 1 Elementary School.
