Abstract
Background: Foot posture is the most important part that affects the musculoskeletal and biomechanical foot (Bengal, 2017). Based on the structure of the foot posture, it is divided into three types, namely normal arch, low arch, high arch / cavus (Mootaah et. Al., 2014). Arcuspedis plays a role in absorbing the reaction force to adjust uneven surfaces and make body movements forward. In addition, Arcuspedis also plays a role in maintaining static balance and stability in the legs (Hillstrom et al., 2014). Flatfoot causes over pronation of the ankle, causing internal rotation of the tibia and femur which then induces a shift in pelvic alignment towards the anterior around 10erior (Khamis & Yiszar, 2007). COG functions to distribute body mass evenly at the base of support so that the body is in a balanced state. However, if there is a change in body posture, the COG also undergoes changes which in turn will cause balance disorders (Syafii et. Al., 2016). Objective: The aims of this study were to determine the relationship between foot posture and static balance, distribution of foot posture balance and distribution of static balance in elementary school children. Method: 2 This study is a cross sectional study with a total sampling technique. The number of samples in this study was 123 children. In this research, Shapiro Wilk normality data test and different test with One Way Anova were used. Results: From the One Way Anova test results, it showed that there were significant differences in static balance according to the degree of the arcus (<.0,001) with a Partial Eta Square value of 54%. LSD results showed that there was a significant difference in static balance between the posture of flat foot and cavus foot and normal (p <0.05), but between cavus foot and normal there was no significant difference (p = 0.072). Conclusion: There is a relationship between foot posture and static balance in elementary school children.
