Abstract

The objectives of this study are to: (1) To describe the role of the principal in instilling akhlāqul karīmah in SMPN 1 Bulu Temanggung in 2018/2019. (2) To find out the success or failure of the principal’s role in instilling akhlāqul karīmah in SMPN 1 Bulu Temanggung in 2018/2019 school year. This type of research is field research (case research), a case study that focuses attention on cases concerning the background of the current situation in question. Researchers conducted field research directly at SMPN 1 Bulu Temanggung. The results of the study found that the role of the principal in instilling akhlāqul karīmah in SMPN 1 Bulu Temanggung in the 2018/2019 academic year included: First, the role carried out by the principal of SMPN 1 Bulu Temanggung in instilling akhlāqul karīmah namely: a) As an Educator ie making RPP, implement in KBM, then evaluate it; b) As a Manager, which is to formulate short and long term school programs, compile the organization, divide tasks and then move the work, after that optimize human resources according to their abilities; c) As an Administrator, i.e. the principal has the data of all students, infrastructure data, has correspondence, etc .; d) as a supervisor ie the principal supervises all teacher and student activities in the school; and e) as a leader that is giving assignments to the teacher and show role models to students. Second, the role of the principal has not been succesful in instilling akhlāqul karīmah, because the existence of internal and external factors become obstacles to students in learning.
