Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the academic area of procrastination and the factors that cause students to make academic procrastination more specifically on activist students who have a satisfactory on achievement index. The method of this study is Qualitative Phenomenology that the data has been collected through interviews and observations towards 5 informants with such criteria, namely the students who are registered as an active students (not on break period), they have a cumulative Grade Point Average in more than 2.75, and they are at least in tenth semester, and they also are a campus student organizations member. The results of the study show that academic areas of xviii procrastination include skipping lectures, not doing reports and delaying thesis work. The factors that cause activist students delay their academic task are divided into two, firstly internal factors which include priority scales, laziness, deliberate delay, inappropriate learning strategies and accommodation in the learning environment. Secondly,the external factors consist of permissive parenting pattern, classroom learning atmosphere, and financial stability in family.
