Abstract
Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a disease of global concern and one of the ten causes of death in the world. Indonesia is one of the countries with the third highest number of TB cases in the world. Wonogiri Regency is one of the districts in Central Java Province with a fairly high incidence of pulmonary TB in children. This study aims to determine the relationship between BCG immunization status and family contact history with the incidence of pulmonary TB in children in the Wonogiri DKK work area. This type of research is quantitative with a case control design, primary data collection using a questionnaire. The population in this study were 52 children who suffered from pulmonary TB with a total sampling technique. The statistical test used in this study is chi-square. The results of this study indicate that there is no relationship between BCG immunization status with the incidence of pulmonary TB children with a value (p value 0.108> 0.05) and there is a relationship between the history of household contact with the incidence of pulmonary TB with a value (p value 0,000 <0.05. this study is that children who have received BCG immunization are still at risk of developing pulmonary TB due to other factors such as nutritional status, contact history, age of immunization and environmental sanitation, however, BCG immunization must be carried out to provide protection to children in order to be able to prevent from more severe TB so that although they have received BCG immunization, prevention to reduce the history of contact with adult pulmonary TB patients is important to do because the history of contact is one of the factors that influence the incidence of pulmonary TB in children.
