Abstract

Since the beginning of its development, the mosque has proven have a very important role for the development of Islamic education. Islamic education hold in the mosque is officially non-formal. Non-formal Islamic education is an education which system of activities is organized and integrated, outside the established schooling system, carried out independently or is an important part of broader activities, which are deliberately carried out to assist the community in finding their learning goals. The implementation of non-formal education cannot be done by school hours, and there is no scheduling that can be done anytime and anywhere; and depends on the opportunities owned by members of the community and the providers of religious education in the community itself. The problem of this study is how role of the Great Mosque of Darul Muttaqin in the development of Non-formal Islamic education and what are the supporting factors and obstacles needed by the non-formal institutions. This research data source obtained from the field, collected data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. Besides that, it proves the relevant literature as a source of reference in this study. Therefore, this research is a research by doing direct and observations that require time. This type of research uses qualitative research method, namely research that produces descriptive data from field analysis, which explains non-formal Islamic education held at the Great Mosque of Darul Muttaqin. Based on the results of research conducted, the Great Mosque Darul Muttaqin held a variety of non-formal Islamic education that can be followed b the surrounding community and from outside the area. While the supporting factor is the activity scheduling program While the obstacle is low individual awareness about the values of Islamic education. With the Great Mosque Darul Muttaqin Batang has played its function in the process of non-formal Islamic education activities.
