Abstract
There are many batik industries in Indonesia, it is considered that the processing of batik cloth liquid waste is still considered to be much less than optimal.The big amount of waste water discharged into the river still contains diverse materials which cause environmental pollution.One of the method to reduce lead content and chemical oxygen demand (COD)is electrocoagulation. The method byuseselectrical power and converts it into a chemical reaction on electrodes. This researchintended to reduce levels of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and lead contain by using of alumunium electrodes. The chosen independent variables were time and voltage. Time variations used were 30, 60, 90, 120 minutesand voltage variation of 5, 10, 15, 20 Volts. The results acquired that time and voltage greatly affected on the reduction in COD and lead content material in waste.
